This evening, our Dive Team members participated in a water rescue drill at Lake Mahopac. These drills are critical for maintaining the skills and readiness needed to respond to emergencies involving submerged vehicles, missing persons, or ice rescues.
Our divers practiced controlled entry, underwater search patterns, and coordinated communication between surface teams and divers. We also reviewed equipment checks and safety protocols to ensure every team member is prepared for real-life scenarios.
The Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department is proud to have the only dive team in Putnam County. Regular training like this helps us stay ready—so when seconds matter, we’re confident, efficient, and safe.
As always, we thank our volunteers for their time, dedication, and commitment to protecting our community. |
