This afternoon, at approximately 3:30 PM, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a possible brush fire at Airport Park. Upon investigation, it was determined to be steam rising from piles of leaves and mulch. On the evening of November 8, 2024, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department was called to a brush fire on Myrtle Avenue that posed a potential threat to Mahopac Central School District buses. Thanks to the swift actions of our members, the fire was knocked down quickly, and no school property was damaged.

Taking advantage of the warmer weather

Tonight, our members tackled cold-weather emergency training—yes, even with the 78-degree weather!
We worked on EMS skills for treating hypothermia and practiced our dive rescue techniques for both on the ice and in the water rescues.
