On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at approximately 7:20 am Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Department, along with Carmel Police were dispatched to Agor Lane for a reported Structure Fire.

Dive Lieutenant Willie Gabay was first on-scene and confirmed that there was a two-story structure with heavy smoke conditions and flames pushing out the top of the front door. This confirmation automatically triggered the working fire mutual aid assignment putting out mutual aid calls to bring neighboring departments Mahopac Vol. Fire Department with their ladder and manpower, Putnam Valley Vol. Fire Department FAS Team as well as Battalion 16 to the scene. Mahopac Vol. Fire Department was also requested to relocate one tanker to stand by at the Mahopac Falls headquarters.

Upon arrival, Assistant Chief, Chris Tompkins, took command and assigned the arriving crews to their work assignments. Our crews immediately went to work to extinguish the fire on the exterior of the building and performed an aggressive interior attack and quickly knocked down the fire.

The home sustained significant heat and smoke damage throughout and was deemed uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Department, along with the mutual aid departments were back in service at 8:42 am.
