| Yesterday, members of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team had the opportunity to participate in the Carmel Police Department’s Summer Youth Academy at Mahopac High School.
Students got an up close look at the specialized equipment our dive team uses and learned about the training, teamwork, and preparation required for water rescue and recovery operations. Members also answered questions and shared what it takes to serve on one of the department’s specialized teams.
Thank you to the Carmel Police Department for inviting us to be part of this great program and for giving local youth the opportunity to learn about the many ways first responders serve our community. We enjoyed spending the afternoon with everyone and hope we inspired the next generation of first responders! |
