| This month, our members are diving into their annual bailout recertification! This essential training prepares us for those rare but critical moments when a quick escape from a dangerous situation inside a structure is the only option.
One key technique we’re focusing on:
Rope Bailouts – Using a harness and rope system to anchor securely and lower ourselves safely from upper floors.
We jump right into high-level bailouts, and for added realism, we even practice blindfolded to mimic the zero-visibility conditions caused by heavy smoke.
Safety is always the top priority. During these high-intensity drills, we rely on backup harnesses and belay systems to ensure everyone stays protected while honing these life-saving skills.
It’s tough work, but it’s all worth it to make sure we’re ready to protect our community when seconds count. |
