| At approximately 4:15pm today, Mahopac Falls VFD along with Carmel PD were dispatched to a possible tow truck on fire, on Route 6n at the Putnam/Westchester border. 911 stated that it was unknown if the vehicle was inside a structure. Upon arrival of DC-19-21, it was confirmed that a tow truck was fully involved but thankfully outside and away from any other vehicles.
Captain Stasiak arrived on scene and took command. Followed by 19-4-4 where members quickly stretch a line and extinguished the vehicle fire. Units remained on scene for approximately 45 minutes and were back in service at 5:03pm.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. |
