Memorial Day Multi-Car MVA

While units were returning from the mutual aide Structure fire in Putnam Valley, Mahopac Falls Fire & EMS were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries. First arriving on scene was Asst. Chief Neary, assuming command to a 3 car MVA with entrapment and requesting the returning engine to swap out and get the rescue on the road, as well as Mahopac FD to the scene to assist with road closures. Once on scene, crews from 19-6-1 were able to extricate the driver of one of the vehicles, directed by Operations Chief Jeff Boyle. The patient & his wife was turned over to EMS crews, who transported the two to Westchester Medical Center ALS. Other EMS personnel on scene obtained RMAs from the other occupants in the other 2 vehicles. FD units remainded on scene while PD conducted their investigation & took photos. Road was reopened and all FD units cleared & returned to service.
