| This evening, Mahopac Falls VFD responded to Route 6N near Cheryl Court for a tree limb down with live wires sparking in the roadway. A second report of additional trees and wires down came in shortly after.
Deputy Chief Boyle arrived on scene within minutes and secured the area while members responded with apparatus. The westbound lane was blocked while crews stood by for NYSEG, who arrived on location to take over the repairs. Units cleared the scene in about 20 minutes.

🚶 Stay at least 35 feet away and keep kids and pets back.
🚗 Never drive over downed lines or through areas taped off by crews.
