This morning at approximately 2:15am, the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire at the Putnam County Golf Course on Hill Street.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed a fully involved maintenance building located behind the main clubhouse. The incident was complicated by two 1,000-pound propane tanks that became compromised during the fire.

Firefighters established a water supply from a hydrant on Bullet Hole Road and initiated an aggressive exterior attack. Due to the propane involvement and additional hazards, the Putnam County Hazardous Materials Team was requested to the scene.

NYSEG responded to secure power and address downed electrical hazards, working closely with crews to ensure safe operations.

Mutual aid was provided by Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, Carmel Fire Dept. NY, Kent Fire Department Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department FASTeam. Carmel Police Department, NY and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office assisted on scene safety.

Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association, Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD and Croton Falls Fire Department provided standby coverage for the area during the incident.

Crews operated for several hours to bring the fire under control and extinguish hotspots. An excavator was utilized to assist with overhaul operations.

There were no reported injuries. The structure sustained significant damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Mahopac Falls Fire Department thanks all assisting agencies for their support and coordinated response.
