| This morning at approximately 6:25 AM, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on West Lake Blvd.
Upon arrival, crews encountered a working fire involving a garage that had extended into the home. Firefighters operated to contain the fire and protect nearby exposures, with many mutual aid departments assisting on scene.
All occupants were able to safely evacuate prior to our arrival. Tragically, a family pet was lost.
The structure sustained significant damage, including a partial collapse. The Town of Carmel Building Department and NYSEG responded to assist.
As of 12:10 PM, all units are back in service and the roadway has been reopened.
