Yesterday afternoon at approximately 5pm, Mahopac Falls VFD was dispatched for mutual aid to assist the Somers Volunteer Fire Department at the scene of a significant structure fire within the Somers Fire district.

Under the leadership of 1st Assistant Chief Tompkins, 2nd Assistant Chief Stasiak, and 6 members on 19-2-1 responded to the scene where they worked alongside departments from both Westchester and Putnam Counties.

While the cause of the fire remains subject to investigation, we commend the expedited and cohesive response demonstrated by the Somers Volunteer Fire Department and all involved agencies.
