Last night at approximately 9:15pm Mahopac Falls Fire and Ambulance, along with Carmel PD and Putnam County Parmedics were dispatched to a single-car accident in the area of Topland Road. It was reported that the car was down a hill and possibly hanging off a wall.

Upon arrival, Deputy Chief Deigan found that one car had veered off the road, went through a fence and into a tree. The car landed next to a small ledge in the yard but was stable. With the help of the homeowners, the driver was able to turn off the vehicle and self-extricate.

The driver was evaluated on scene by EMS and was taken to Putnam Hospital Center via BLS for observation. The scene was turned over to Carmel Police and Mahopac Falls Fire was back in service shortly after.
