At approximately 2 o’clock this morning the Mahopac Falls Marine unit was requested to respond to a staging area in Valhalla with manpower.

Once at the staging area Mahopac Falls met up with numerous departments from Putnam and Westchester counties. These units were deployed to the Village of Mamaroneck which was experiencing dangerous flooding as a result of the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

Mahopac Falls and others assisted in the rescue of numerous victims who were trapped in high flood waters. The water began to recede throughout the morning hours and Mahopac Falls was released at approximately 10am.
