Structure Fire Austin Road

Just after 6pm, Thursday evening, Mahopac Falls Fire Dept., along with units from Carmel Police were dispatched to Austin Rd. for a reported house fire. Chief of Department, Jeff Boyle, first on scene was met with heavy fire conditions in a two story barn-type residence. Due to the size of the structure and fire load, a 2nd Alarm was transmitted putting out Mutual Aid calls bring out Mahopac Fire with a Tanker and Ladder, Putnam Valley F.D. with their FASTeam, Mohegan F.D. for their FASTeam, as Putnam Valley's team was used for fire attack, Yorktown F.D. relocated an engine for station coverage, Battalion #16, Putnam County Fire Investigation Team, Putnam County Sheriff's Dept. and Mahopac Falls EMS, Fire Police and Medic 3 were on the scene. The fire was brought under control after 2 hours and fire units cleared the scene at approximately 9pm.
