Mahopac Falls Fire Dept. was dispatched to a serious two, possibly three car accident on the Rt.6 end of Baldwin Place Rd. this evening. First arriving First Responders notified the Chief of the severity of the incident and requested that the helicopter be put on standby. Upon arrival, Chief Jeff Boyle assumed Incident Command, putting the helicopter in the air and Mahopac EMS and Medic 2 paramedics, Battalion #16 and County EMS Car #1 to come in on the Rt. 6 side. 1st Asst. Chief Bob Trace was ordered to take charge of the Landing Zone operations and 2nd Asst. Chief Dan Meury took charge of Operations at the accident scene. Multiple Carmel Police units responded, along with the Accident Investigation Team and Medic 3 was relocated to assist at the Landing Zone for the Air Methods helicopter. The Mahopac Fire Dept. ambulance transported two patients to the hospital and the driver of the truck was extricated and Mahopac Falls transported to the Landing Zone where he was airlifted to the medical center. The police investigation is still underway at this time and the condition of the people involved is unavailable.
