Mahopac Falls Fire and EMS were dispatched early this morning to a house fire off Mexico Lane. First arriving units confirmed a working structure fire, putting all equipment from both stations on the road. Chief Jeff Boyle assumed Incident Command as 1st. Asst. Chief Bob Trace took charge of Operations. Putting out a call to Mahopac Fire Dept. for a pumper/tanker to respond to Mahopac Falls headquarters to standby, but was rerouted to the scene while enroute and a Ladder truck to the scene, the Putnam Valley FASTeam, Battalion#16 and the Putnam County Fire Investigation team all to the scene, with Somers Fire sending a truck to cover the standby. Fire crews hand laid hose lines in from the road down the long driveway and immediately began a heavy exterior attack. Calls for an ambulance from EMStar and a request for NYSEG and the Town of Carmel Building Inspector were put out as the fire was knocked down. Carmel Police units were on the scene along with the first in trucks. During the height of the fire, Mahopac Falls also was responding to multiple ambulance calls, with Mahopac and Somers covering some of the calls.
