At 2:28pm today, Mahopac Falls Fire, Rescue, EMS and Fire Police were dispatched, along with EMStar paramedics and multiple PCSO units already on the scene at Baldwin Place Rd. at the entrance of the High School for a car vs bus accident with injuries. Chief Brian Sacher arrived on the scene and assumed Incident Command, while Lt. Loprieno took charge of Operations and Firefighter Jason Stasiak coordinated students to be checked and the school nurse. Fire Police and school administrators closed Baldwin Place Rd. at Muscoot Dr. while SRO Paul Maglietta, PCSO and Deputy Dallo, PCSO K-9 officer took charge of traffic heading toward the high school. School Superintendent DeCarlo arrived on the scene, as did Asst. Transportation Super. Steve Troost to coordinate and mobilize resources and people, if needed. 24 people, including the driver from the bus were brought to the high school nurse for evaluation. All were triaged, treated and released while the four occupants of the car were transported to a local hospital, 2 by Mahopac Falls ambulance and 2 by EMStar paramedics.

Today's accident and road closure reinforced the need for people to slow down as they approach an accident scene and look for direction from Police and Fire Police trying to detour traffic.
