The Friday morning quiet was shattered around 8am on Emily Lane in Mahopac Falls when a car veered off the road, down a steep embankment and stopped within inches of crashing thru the front door of the house, just missing a tree located on the front lawn. Responding to the scene was two units from the Carmel Police Dept., TransCare medics and the Mahopac Falls Fire Dept. Arriving units found the driver to have suffered minor injuries, and he was transported to the hospital. Chief Jeff Boyle assumed the Incident Command role as firefighters checked for any leaks of fluids from under the car. Mahopac Falls Fire units remained on the scene until the vehicle was removed insuring the safety of the residents.
