Warm & Dry Weather leads to 2 Day Brush Fire

It all started on the evening of Saturday April 16th, when a call went out for a brush fire in the area of Scout Hill Road. This would be the start of many brush fires for the following dry week. Dry conditions lead to close call at Tompkins Mahopac Bank

On Wednesday March 30th, 2016 the Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Dept. was dispatched to 591 Route 6N, Tompkins Mahopac Bank for a brush fire next to the bank. Initial reports indicated the fire was possibly igniting the structure. Slick conditions to blame for MVA rollover with vehicle fire

During the early morning hours of February 9th, 2016 Mahopac Falls Fire Dept and EMS were dispatched to the area of 622 Route 6N for a report of a MVA rollover with vehicle fire. 19-9-4 arrived on scene confirming a fully involved vehicle fire with all occupants out of the vehicle. 19-2-1 arrived on scene shortly thereafter and started extinguishing the blaze while the two patients were in care of ... At 11:58pm on January 25th, Mahopac Falls Fire was dispatched to a possible brush fire behind 18 Green Lane; caller stated they heard a loud explosion and can see large flames. At 12:00am the call was updated to a rollover MVA with possible entrapment and possible vehicle fire at the intersection of Route 6N and Archer Road.
